Some Great Online Businesses to Start

The Internet has become a place for opportunity for almost everybody.  With business the playing field has been leveled.  Anyone that has a computer can start an online business.  It is literally open to every single person with a computer, an Internet connection and the drive to wish to be an entrepreneur.

You do not need any technical experience which is a huge draw.  You don’t have to know how to build websites because nowadays with platforms like WordPress it makes it extremely easy and you don’t need to go to school to learn how to code.

You’re also able to live where you want, work at your own pace and you can also work as much or as little as you want.  This will all depend on how much you want to make your business grow.  As far as marketing experience you don’t even really need to have that because there are plenty of courses online that you can purchase.  Check out this IM review blog by drews-review that breaks down reviews for courses that many new entrepreneurs buy.

What’s great about an online business is that you don’t need to have a lot of startup capital like you would with a brick and mortar business.  There are a few different businesses that anyone can start today and will discuss a few of them.

Drop Shipping

Dropshipping involves having a website where people can purchase products that are either niche based or a variety of different products.  As the owner of the store you will not maintain any inventory at all.  When someone makes a purchase you simply pay the manufacturer for the product and they will ship the product directly to your customer.  The markup on products depend on how much they cost and many low cost items are marked up several 100%.  This can be a profitable model but there are many expenses such as costs for ads and operating costs.  Profit is usually between 20 to 30% for a typical dropshipping store.

Here is an example of a drop shipping store:

Affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is like dropshipping but is slightly different.  With this model you still don’t have to have any inventory.  The way how it works is this.  You will decide on a niche that you’re interested in and you will look for products that you wish to sell.  You will apply for the affiliate program that is attached to the product.  They will then give you an affiliate ID which you will use on your website.  If someone makes a purchase from that link then you will get a commission.  Commissions vary anywhere from 4% to 75% of the sale.

If you’re passionate about a subject you could easily set up a blog where you just write on a specific topic or a subset of that topic.  You will then try to match up products with the topics you discuss that are essentially affiliate links.  This will be a soft sell as people enjoy reading your content and having you suggest products to purchase will seem to be genuine as they are already falling your blog and see you as an authority on the subject.

Video marketing

Here, you will set up a youtube channel and make sure that it is niche based.  For example, if you like fishing, you can have many videos on this subject.  If there is a course on fishing or a product that you feel you could sell you could easily market this on your channel. This is similar to a blog but in video format.

Whenever it is you decide to do make sure that before you purchase any course that you get a good review.  You do not want to spend money on courses that are known to be scams.  You also need to research your niche to make sure that there are people that are looking for information on the subject.  If they’re not, then chances are you will not make any money because there is no audience.
